The Honest Truth (2)
So, I feel like I need to be honest right up front. My first post was honest, but just to clarify, I got started on this blogging business because of my Writing Teacher. The first day of class, Sister Steadman announced that we would be setting up a blog and writing on it the whole semester. I must admit, I was less than thrilled. But, a week into it now, I have to admit, I like having so much freedom in my writing. I can say and think whatever I want. I love being able to use my personality and slang as I write. So, right up front here in the beginning, I will be writing posts about articles, essays, etc. as I try to figure out how to do this my way. Technically, I was supposed to write my first post on my blog about a talk I read from Elder Bednar called "Things as They Really Are." There was this way good quote that really got me thinking. Elder Bednar was talking about how God has given us a body for us to learn and grow and have joy when he said," The devil has no power over us only as we permit him; the moment we revolt at anything which comes form God, the devil takes power." Satan does not have a body and nothing is physically tangible for him. What he does know is that we have tangible cell phones, iphones, ipods, computers, many sorts of technologies. He know that if he can desensitize our feelings and thoughts, he has control over our bodies, control over the greatest gift God has given us. It's interesting how Satan uses any sort of tactic to take control, switch, or belittle what God has given us.
